| NormalAir Polar Bear Dive 30 June 07 |
Traditionally, a a delegation from WUC participates in the NUC mid-winter Polar Bear dive in Emmarentia lake.
This year was no exception. The event was a great success and boy, does that lake have treasures, this year a canoe, 3 guns, a dive compass, a billboard, Hi-Fi amplifier, skateboard, signs advertising to keep the water clean and pleading not to litter, and many more and this was all found within the first half hour. The diving conditions were not much worse than Bass and it was only about 12ºC, which wasn't as bad as previous years.
Along with the Mid winter Dive, NUC held its roof wetting for its newly revamped clubhouse, it now also boasts a pool table, We will soon be doing the same and of course we will doing one better and will be holding a fancy dress dive as part of our celebrations, so start thinking of your costumes.
Congratulations to Derrick and Alex Kayle who walked away with some nice prizes.
